St. John’s Wort 

Description: a perennial herbaceous plant 20–50 cm tall, leaves opposite, flowers in the form of thyroid inflorescences at the top of the stems. Leaves 5 pieces of yellow color with black dotted glands on the edge, in the upper half – with black or red transparent glands. It blooms from June to August.

Raw materials: only the apical part, covered with leaves of flowering stems, which are collected. During flowering, leaf-covered stems about 20 cm long from the top are cut off. They are tied up in bunches and suspended to dry on a rope or wire in a dry, shaded and well-ventilated room.

Main action: regenerative (healing), analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, sedative and anti-depressant.

St. John’s wort is a very healing plant for the nervous system, because it has a calming and fortifying effect. Recent studies have discovered its antidepressant properties, which manifest themselves without suppressing the functions of the central nervous system.

Method of application: use all dried plant in powder form. Sleep 2 tsp. raw materials in 0.5 liters of hot water and boil for 5 minutes. Take a glass of wine before meals 3-4 times a day.

Hypericum tea removes fear, nervous anxiety and improves mood. St. John’s wort is an ideal tool for those who have suffered a heavy loss, divorce, or found themselves in other crisis situations. You need to take from 3 to 6 cups of tea for several weeks or months.

To improve sleep, St. John’s wort is used as one of the components of a sleeping pillow as aromatherapy.

Melissa officinalis

Description: perennial herb with a characteristic smell of lemon. Stem erect, branched, opposite leaves, rounded-toothed. Flowers 6-10 in the axils of the upper leaves. A pale yellow corolla, white or pink, fused into a straw. It blooms in July and September and is often grown in household plots.

Raw materials: leaves and stem tops. Main action: sedative, analgesic, reducing
 blood pressure and antispasmodic.

Melissa is not only efficient, but also has a strong, pleasant smell. Because of its flavor, it is also called lemon melissa. It is better to collect the leaves before flowering, because later they already lose their flavor. A flowering plant attracts a lot of bees, because Melissa is a good honey plant.

Method of application: 2 tbsp. l crushed raw materials pour 2 cups of boiling water. Cooled infusion filter and drink the daily dose in one day.

When nervousness and insomnia helps tea from lemon balm. 3 tsp. leaves take on 1 cup of boiling water. Cover with a lid, let the tea brew for 5 minutes, and shake the condensate formed on the lid back into the cup.
